Insurtech Report 2021 highlights sum.cumo Sapiens as a successful scale-up and platform player

Recently, the team of strategy consultants Oliver Wyman together with policen direkt published the Insurtech Report 2021, highlighting 27 companies in the insurance industry in the DACH market. Through collaborations with established insurers, sales organizations and other insurtechs, some startups have now developed into so-called scale-ups – including sum.cumo Sapiens, which works with insurance groups such as Ergo, Die Bayerische and the Swiss Dextra. According to Oliver Wyman, scale-ups have set themselves apart by achieving particularly relevant market significance. These scale-ups, including sum.cumo, are driving the market significantly in their business areas.

The Insurtech Radar looks at the importance of the operations segment, which is continuously growing. Among other things, it looks at insurtechs that are finding new ways to optimize business processes in the insurance industry. sum.cumo is highlighted by Oliver Wyman as the only scale-up that is a major player in insurance platforms.

It is also emphasized that there are now some internationally oriented success stories. The market potential remains as great as ever.
