“When it comes to reinsurance, it’s been a buyers’ market,” wrote Karlyn Carnahan, director of Celent’s insurance practice, in an interesting blog post last summer. There is an increase in the number of carriers structuring complex programs, but for most insurance carriers, reinsurance is still managed by a small group comprised of only a few experts.
